Scattered Strong Storms Today

After some late night storms last night dumped heavy rainfall in parts of southern TN, we may have more in the way of heavy storms today. These will be hit and miss once again...so you may remain dry while your neighbors down the road pickup big time rainfall amounts!
Here is the SPC outlook for today, showing a level 1 out of 5 risk for a few strong to severe storms across parts of the state...

We are still tracking the tropical disturbance along the coast, but it now looks like this will not develop into a tropical storm. Heavy rainfall continues to be the main threat as this system moves westward, and then northward along the Mississippi River. Here are the tracks from our tropical computer models...

This system may bring us higher rain chances as we get into the weekend, so stay tuned to more details on that!
