A Heat Advisory has been issued for all of west Tennessee for today. Dangerous heat and humidity will make the heat index values reach 105 to 107 degrees this afternoon. Make sure you drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks while working outdoors today.
The orange shaded counties below are in the heat advisory area...

We still expect a few scattered showers and storms to pop up in the heat today, so hopefully your area will see a brief break in the heat with some clouds and rain!
Outside of the state...we are still tracking the tropical disturbance which is now in the northern gulf. It looks like a hot mess this morning, which is a good thing. It will bring flooding rains to parts of the gulf coast this week, but is not expected to develop into a strong storm or hurricane.
Here is the morning satellite view of the disorganized blob...

The low pressure center is actually still over land, which totally kills the development potential. Here are our tropical model tracks below. Notice how it's only over water for a very short period of time...which means this likely will not develop into a tropical storm.

Stay tuned and we will provide more updates on this tropical system and it's potential impacts in Tennessee as we get closer to the end of the week and the weekend.
